A small press with a long view

We began with a conviction that the great stories of history — the sieges, the exiles, the unlikely queens and the stubborn healers — deserve books that are as carefully made as they are thrilling to read. Every title on our list is edited line by line, typeset with care and designed to be kept.

We publish three kinds of book: gripping historical fiction; narrative biography that reads like a novel without sacrificing rigour; and enriched editions of the classics, with new introductions, notes, maps and reading guides that open old texts to new readers.

Because we work in two languages, many of our books travel both ways — English novels finding Spanish readers and Spanish classics reaching the English-speaking world.
